How can we help

Your special day can include exclusive use of the Barton & St Andrews halls, grounds and facilities, all tables and chairs seating 4 / 6 persons and can be configured in any combination to suit your design requirements.

We can cater for many activities, special requests/performances to make your day a special, unforgettable experience.

A wedding breakfast can be your design too, using outside caterers or cooked food on-site with a small marquee as a kitchen/prep area. Finger food is another great favourite, using our place settings. You will have full access to our kitchen facilities, and we are happy to work with outside caterers as required.

An evening reception in the St Andrews Hall may take many formats: Shows, Games, Dancing, Disco, Live Gigs, naming a few. We are able to offer Bespoke Staging, Audio Visual, and surround sound. (Additional charges will apply depending on requirements.)

You have the flexibility to decorate the premises as you wish. Decorations can be hung on the walls using hooks provided; however, please do not use blutack or adhesive tape, i.e. sellotape, etc. as this may damage the paintwork. You may also decorate the Balcony, and we can recommend other means of affixing decorations if you require.

An entrance key will be made available to you by our bookings administrator before, or on the day, the hall should be locked by yourself and the key returned on completion.

We also ask that you tidy everything away following your event and leave the premises as you found it.

We do provide access to cleaning equipment.

We ask that all excess rubbish be taken home with you.

External cleaners can be employed at an additional charge.

Licensed Bar

The hall is licensed for the sale and/or serving of alcoholic refreshments until 23.00 hours.

We would normally provide our own bar staff/bar service (additional charge) if alcohol is consumed on the premises.

We would request that all drinks be purchased by you. Our staff will attend the bar, serve and service as required. We do not take money; drinks are served using tokens issued by you. This system means that you have total control over the alcohol consumed, and we can safeguard that everything is per the licensing law. Please ask for further details if you have any doubts.

Music / Video

The hall is licensed to play music until 23.00 hours. The St Andrews Hall is equipped with an integrated 8-speaker surround sound system, audiovisual screening, all available on request.

Portable devices can also be connected, ie. Laptops, Phones, CDs, DVDs, etc.

Tables and chairs

The hall has 17 collapsible rectangular tables (770 x 1530mm) and 5 square tables (760 x 760mm) and 80 chairs. You can fit up to 6 chairs around the rectangular tables and 4 chairs around the smaller tables.

If required, a small number of additional tables and chairs are available for external use. The maximum capacity for a Wedding Breakfast will be calculated for you (on request) with a scaled seating plan to your own design.

Please identify any additional requirements/accessibility with your Catering Provider (if applicable) and discuss this with the booking’s administrator as soon as possible.

(Table covers are normally hired in, or bring your own)

Outside Space and Terrace

There is a small, well-tended lawned area to the side of the building. The Terrace has magnificent views across the Truro River and is accessed via large double patio doors off the Barton Hall.

Main Entrance

Leading directly into the lobby area, here you will find the unisex/disabled, baby changing toilet and entrances to both the St Andrews and Barton Halls.

Please see a scaled plan for floor areas.

On the front elevation, we have an external disabled lift that transports you from road level up to the Balcony and the level access to both halls. This lift can also be used for moving goods.

Main Building Internal Access

All our openings are wide access, and there are level access toilet facilities.

There are no significant floor-level changes inside the building.

In addition to the above, St Andrews Hall has its side Gothic door; this is predominantly the entrance where the bride would enter at a wedding service. As the bride approaches, she is greeted with a stunning Gothic arched stained glass window, as you would expect with a religious ceremony.

The special feature backdrop of this hall lends itself to great photo opportunities.

No animals are allowed on site. For health and safety reasons, animals are not allowed inside the hall or on the lawned area.

Dogs can be exercised on the adjacent wooded walk Malpas Road. If you choose to hire a small bouncy castle or marquee, these can be placed on the lawned area; however, please discuss the positioning with us in advance, as it may impact the hall's fire exits.

You or the company you are hiring these items from must have the appropriate insurance for such activities.
