The Social Committee is a group of volunteers that work under the same umbrella as the Charity Trust. They do what it says on the tin, organising community events, they meet at the hall around four times a year for Coffee, biscuits, and chat.

In years gone by, they organised the Malpas Regatta and Carnival, which was a long time before the Charity Trust was established. We are fortunate to have a few of those volunteers still working diligently on the same committee. They do a fantastic job; nothing is ever too much trouble.

Also, we have The Friends of Malpas Village Hall, this is a very special group of helpers and fundraisers that work in the background at the Village Hall, but do not want to become a part of a formal committee. They are vital to the day to day running of our halls.

So, what do these good people do for the Malpas community and our visiting customers?

• Arrange Summer and Winter Fairs
• Tabletop art & craft sales
• Support local Artists
• Display local historic photos
• Advertise & sell Malpas' handmade goods
• Support & service the Dolphin Bar
• Arrange cake baking competitions
• Supply nibbles and snacks at many community events
• Organise the monthly Games Evening, including Table Tennis
• Support Coffee & Books mornings, once a month – ideal for the walking clubs / groups
• Attend to village notice boards, posters and letter drops
• Attend to the maintenance of the Malpas Defibrillator
• Arrange the Malpas “Big Prize” Raffle twice a year, including selling the tickets
• Arrange Cornish Cream teas and Cornish pasty evenings
• Always there to support Shows, Concerts and Film screenings
• Support the Skittles Evenings and long weekends
• Support the Malpas Film Club and its audience
• Support Bacon Butties & Irish Coffee (Christmas Eve)
